Travel within Thailand is about to get simpler as officials give the nod to a new high-speed rail project that will link two Bangkok airports with Pattaya and the Rayong district.
The project, which is anticipated to cost approximately R101bn, is slated for completion within the next two to three years and was announced at a press conference by Sujitra Jongchansitto, deputy governor for tourism products and business.
"The proposed route will offer connections to 5 provinces including Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Rayong," according to Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) office.
